We all know that the holidays can be a stressful time of year. S.H.A.R.E. strives to make this time of year a little easier for those in need by providing food, clothing, toys and other necessities. Here we teach the "Pay It Forward" principle and try to help families understand what the concept means.
Our organization solicits and accepts gently used home furnishings, household items, clothing and baby items to distribute to families and children in need. Requests are accepted year round and must be submitted by a human resources service worker. For example, a therapist, a case manager, a teacher, a principle, or a pastor. After the application is received and approved, items are matched (if available) and then distributed to families in need.
The "Pay it Forward" program assists families and children who find themselves in a time of need or unable to pay for something that would improve their circumstance. Residents of New Hanover, Pender, Columbus, Duplin, and Brunswick county are eligible to apply.
